Alyona al'Corodin
Rank: Accepted Aspiring to the Brown Ajah

Profile:

Alyona is quite unremarkable in the looks department, or so she thinks. Her shoulder-length curly black hair and faded violet eyes bore her. She wishes that she could have the fiery red hair of her father, or the icy blue eyes of her best friend Kat. Her figure is almost boyishly slim, and her alabaster skin is exquisitely pristine, save for a small, crescent shaped scar beneath her left eye.

Alyona is painfully shy, avoiding large groups of people whenever possible. However, if someone is lucky enough to actually break through her barrier, they are pleasantly surprised. Alyona is a warm, caring person who would give anyone the shirt off of her back if she thought that it would help them. She has a wickedly dry, sarcastic sense of humor, one which always catches people off guard.

Biography:

Alyona stood on the hill that overlooked Emond's Field, content to let the wind whip her hair around her face. Every year, a group of Aes Sedai came to Emond's Field, looking for men and women who could channel and every year, they took a group of fifteen or more away. While Alyona loved her family, she dreamed of one day becoming an Aes Sedai. It would be the only way that she would leave this place and be able to make her mark on the world. Coming from a family of nine, this was something that meant a lot to Alyona.

Alyona was determined to get Tested this year. Every year, she missed it for one reason or another, but not this year. She made sure that she had everything done that needed to be done. The group of people huddled around the inn were surprised to see Alyona join them. Alyona rarely visited the village, content to say out on the farm and let everyone else make the necessary trips to the village.

She nodded at the group of people, and then settled in line, not speaking to anyone. The peopel visibly relaxed, and went back to talking with one another. The line moved fairly quickly, with more and more disappointed faces leaving the building than happy ones. Finally, it was Alyona's turn to be Tested.

A plump woman in a simple brown riding dress beamed up at Alyona. "Alyona! I haven't seen you since you were a child. How is your father doing? Is he still doing his cross-breeding experiments up at the farm." Alyona didn't realize that she was holding her breath until she felt it leave her lungs. Meera was someone that she had known since childhood. "Meera! I never knew that you were Aes Sedai," Alyona said, as a faint blush spread across her cheeks. She was highly embarassed that she didn't know that Meera was Aes Sedai. To be fair, Meera didn't look like an Aes Sedai, she looked more like an innkeeper. The pair spent an hour talking before Alyona remembered what she was here for. "Um, Meera, when are we going to get to the Testing," she asked, mentally preparing herself for what would surely be rigorous testing. Meera blinked. "Oh, I don't need to Test you child! You already have the spark! I've been waiting for you to come to the Testing all these years, although I was getting ready to just come and take you last year, no questions asked. Didn't your father ever tell you? He and I have had some very long discussions."

Anger slowly seeped into Alyona's emotions. No, her father never told her that she had the spark! She slowly shook her head, letting the rage disappear. "No, Meera, he never told me. No matter, I'm ready to go now! Just let me go and say my goodbyes, and I'll be back tomorrow." Meera smiled and patted her hand, and dismissed her with a nod.

Alyona broke the news to her family as soon as she got home. Her parents were saddened, but they had expected this day to come. They helped her pack her things, and prepared a feast for dinner that night. Alyona tossed and turned that night, unable to sleep. She was finally going to become Aes Sedai!
