Ashlyn Phyre
Rank: Novice of the Grey Tower

Profile:

Tall and graceful, around 6'0. Brown hair that shimmers red in the right light, and brightly green eyes. Moves like a dancer, light on her feet and fluid.

Ashlyn is a near mirror image of Llewelyn Phyre, her older cousin, a former Tower member.

Biography:

"Poor Lyn.. I wish that there had been more that we could have done to help her, Ruce." Her mother's voice carried in the small room of the Inn they were staying at for the evening.

"For my sister and her husband to have been slaughtered was bad enough, but for Lyn to have seen it? And escaped? Light only knows how she managed to get away.. Oh remember, Ruce, how happy we were when she came home? Aes Sedai, and an Ajah Head to boot! And with such a wonderful husband, and two darling children.." Through slitted eyes, Ash feigned sleep and watched her parents talk by firelight from the bed.

"You are right Atie, I wish we could have talked her out of going into the Arches. Even with all the young ones she was able to save.. it was the wolf in her.. it was too much.. She'd lost too much to have been allowed to go into the Arches alone," her father's deeper voice was like whiskey, smooth. Ash knew the story, had read the letter from the Amrylin Seat and M'Hael. As the last of Lyn's surviving family, they had been told of what had happened to her. Ash knew that her cousin's manor had been overtaken by a Dark Friend Rayven. Knew that story, and the one that followed where she had lost her husband, and her son. Lyn's daughter, Ash's second cousin, was living at Crystal Lake as Heir to her father's lands.

I will not be like her. I am stronger than Lyn was..

Seven years later, at the tender age of 17, Ash walked along the Market in the town near her parent's manor, thinking again of her cousin. She knew that her mother saw Lyn whenever Atie looked at her, and knew that she was a spitting image of her cousin. Shivering in the slight breeze, Ash pulled her dark green shawl a little closer to herself. As if something drew her, her green eyes were pulled to a woman not fifty feet from her. Her heart pounding in her chest, she thought, Suliela Sedai looked at the girl with something akin to shock. She was a mirror image of Suliela's former First Seeker, Llewellyn. Her Warder felt the shock through the Bond, and turned to look at her.

"It's not Lyn, Ryker, but who is it?" He looked to where his Sedai was staring, and inwardly gasped. Ryker had known Lyn, had known that Suliela had been Raised to the Hall of Justice because of Lyn.

Ashlyn watched, frozen where she stood, as the Aes Sedai murmered something to the Aielman beside her, what could only be her Warder. With her sharp eyes, she saw the surprise that flitted quickly across the man's dark eyes. Ash backed up, with every intention of hiding, backed right into a cart, nearly knocking it's contents over.

By the time the cart was righted, the Aes Sedai was a foot from her, "Why has no one seen the Spark in you, child? How have you gotten to this age and not felt It?" She knew what It was.. she opened her mouth to answer...
