Aleshanee Terrallion Aleshanee Terrallion is the middle child of six. She is 17. She lives in Baerlon, Andor, the child of a successful and rich merchant who deals in Sea Folk porcelain and other rare niceties, including a single angreal in the shape of a chain of silver butterflies, although he doesn't know it. Aleshanee's mother, Raniele, who died when she was thirteen, was Atha'an Miere. It was through Raniele that Alla's father, Rickard, gained trade with the Sea Folk. Aleshanee resembles her mother by being brown skinned with long dark hair she keeps braided and almond shaped brown eyes. She's pretty but not too. Her older sister, Rana, is the beauty in the family. Both she and Rana share the graceful carriage of the Sea-Folk women although they have never been aboard a ship. Alla keeps to herself mostly when she can. She likes to ride out of Baerlon with a blanket and lunch and some books and stay all day reading or sketching the scenery. She taught her three younger siblings to read and often helps with the bookkeeping in her father’s store since she has a head for numbers. She is her father’s favorite child and the most like him—quiet, observant and blunt to a fault when she speaks. Aleshanee does not know she has the potential to channel. She knows she feels strangely around the little butterfly chain and spends lots of time looking at it and handling it. Last year, she had such a sudden violent attack of illness after pulling her younger sister from a pond that the Wisdom called in from down-country in the Two Rivers said it was amazing she lived at all.
