Llewellyn's Raising The First Arch Llewellyn Phyre took a deep, steadying breath and stepped through the First Arch. A flash of light engulfed her... She woke, disoriented, and sat up in her bed. Looking around, she picked out familiar shapes out of the Shadows in the Phyre household. Phyre household...She was home! It was morning and the sun was shining behind the curtains over the large picture window. She flew out of bed and threw open her bedroom door, barely stopping long enough to grab a robe and pull it on. She opened the door and paused as she heard raised and angry voices. Her parents? Fighting? Confusion pulled at her senses. She pressed her ear against the door, easily picking up their heated words. "I will not have her growing up knowing she will eventually go insane!" This was her mother's voice. Her mother Asa never yelled! "You can't hide the truth! She is Wolfkin, like you and must learn what that means!" THat was her father, Geirolf. She rolled the strange word, Wolfkin, around on her tongue. The door flung open and she looked up in confusion and fright at her father's angry face. Upon seeing his daughter, the harsh lines of his face softened. "My lovely Lyn, what do you in the hall? Listening to us bicker, I suppose," he sighed, "Did you hear anything? Of course not, the door is much too thick." He put his arms out as if to hug her, not even thinking twice about her being able to hear their words or not. She stepped forwards to embrace Geirolf and the Arch appeared. Lyn looked at it, then her father and mother, whom had come to stand to the side and just behind her father, then Lyn looked back at the Arch. She was torn between her parents, and her future. "The way comes but once..." Tears streamed down her face when she looked back at her parents. They stood together, a united front, smiling sadly at her. Love held them together in a tight bond and she turned away and into the Arch... The Second Arch She had no time to even blink before the Second Arch took her... Lyn hit the ground running, her breath coming in short gasps and her gold eyes burning with the sting of tears and the wind blowing into them. Silver Flame... Shadow Grass called to her weakly. He had been injured badly by a Wolfkin gone insane. He didn't know who, and she couldn't begin to guess. The wolf was bleeding heavily from deep gashes down his throat and the soft skin of his underbelly. A rider thundered up to her as she knelt by her wolf. SHe looked up into crystal blue eye, then looked quickly back down as Shadow Grass spoke to her. She bit back a sob and nodded. "He wishes to be left to die the wolf's way," she pulled the wolf's head into her lap as she told this to Uri and crooned softly to her wolfbrother. He nodded stiffly at her and dismounted, his worry for her nearly causing her to break down again. Wolves, seven of them, appeared around them. They growled low in their throats and demanded to Lyn that she and her mate back away. They thought that the two of them were responsible for the damage done to the dying wolf before them. Uri pulled her up and behind him in a protective stance, knowing that she wouldn't raise a hand to protect herself against her wolfbrothers and sisters. The horse Uri had ridden over on screamed and ran as a wolf growled and snapped at it. The wolves bagan coming closer, closing the circle tighter and tighter, still growling. She swore and looked back at Uri as the Arch appeared where the horse had been. Fear of the wolves showed in his eyes and scratched at the Heart Bond they shared. He put out a hand pleadingly, "Don't leave, they will listen to you." "The way comes but once..." She closed her eyes tightly, and turned from her love. Tears stung her eyes, and her fists clenched. As she stepped through the Arch, she heard a snapping of jaws over flesh and a grunt of pain and betrayal... The Third Arch Lyn walked gracefully through the Hall of the Green Ajah. She was now Aes Sedai to the Greens and wed to Urikanu shin Larithan. They had been married for four years now and she still loved him as much as when they first met. The thin scar on her hand from their betrothal ceremony suddenly burned in a flash of pain, then the pain was gone. She stopped walking and frowned at her opened palm. Curious... A young Soldier came running into the Hall calling her name, "Llewellyn Sedai!" She rushed to him and sat him down quickly, "I am she, what is it that you need?" Her hand began to burn again, and fiercely. The Soldier looked up at her, sympathy and a strange sadness radiating out from him, "If you be she, your husband has been mortally wounded in protection..." he faltered and she urged him on, "in protestion of his Sedai and is being carried swiftly to the Yellow Ajah to be Healed." Her calm Sedai exterior shattered and her hand began to burn like balefire. She stood quickly as a call of "riders approaching" sounded, and rushed to the gates. "Uri!" she cried out as she saw his body on one of the horses. He lifted a hand weakly, "Lyn, my...my love..." The Arch appeared and she faltered. "He is dying, I cannot leave him!" she screamed. The Arch flichered as she touched Uri's cheek, "I love you Lyn..." His eyes closed and her heart cried out, He cannot be dead! Noo!! "The way comes but once..." The Arch began to face and she ran. Ran through it and was plunged into darkness as her heart grieved. She had never had a chance to say that she loved him too... |
