Appointing and Removal

The Appointing of Ajah Heads

When an Ajah Head steps down or is removed, all active, fully-raised Ajah members will discuss and decide on a successor. An Ajah must have at least three, active, fully-raised members to be considered to have a quorum for this decision. If no definite successor is decided, if there are problems with the discussions, or if their help is requested, the Amyrlin and M'Hael will mediate in the discussion and may decide to hold an Ajah vote to resolve the issue.

If an Ajah does not have a quorum of three, active, fully-raised members, a member of the Ajah can petition Tower Admin to request to be made Ajah Head.

Ajah Heads maintain their position until they voluntarily step down or until they are removed by Tower Admin. There are no term limits or restrictions. If an Ajah Head steps down, they do not choose their own successor. They simply may vote along with the rest of their Ajah to choose the next Ajah Head.

The Removal of Ajah Heads

If two or more complaints are received by the Amyrlin and M'Hael from members of the Ajah about the Ajah Head, an investigation of whether these complaints are valid is to be conducted, considering the duties above, and any other considerations. The Amyrlin and M'Hael should discuss the matter with the Ajah Head in question as well as the members of the Ajah and take further action if necessary.

If the Ajah Head has not posted for 2 months in the Hall of Sitters, the Amyrlin and M'Hael shall discuss the matter with them, and further action may be taken if no improvement is seen.

If other issues arise regarding the Ajah Head's fitness to maintain their position, the Amyrlin and M'Hael shall discuss the matter with them and the members of the Ajah and further action may be taken if no consistent improvement is seen, and no mitigating circumstances apply.

If the members of an Ajah decide during discussions to remove an Ajah Head, but the Ajah Head refuses, the Amyrlin and M'Hael shall actively remove them in favour of the Ajah's choice.

The Appointing of Sitters

The selection of Sitters is the choice of the Ajah Head. No more than three Sitters shall be allowed in the Hall from each Ajah and an Ajah will not have Sitters if it does not have an Ajah Head. A Sitter’s selection is not official until the Ajah Head has informed the M'Hael and Amyrlin, who will list it on the Member Listings and the Hall of Sitters.

The Removal of Sitters

Removal of a Sitter shall be left up to the discretion of the Ajah Head. If a Sitter has not posted in the Hall of Sitters in two months or has not participated in two votes in a row, the Amyrlin and M'Hael should speak to the Ajah Head to see if any action has been taken to determine the Sitter's OOC status. Further action may be taken if no consistent improvement is seen, and no mitigating circumstances apply.

A Sitter who is removed shall have the right to appeal the decision of the Ajah Head to the Amyrlin and the M'Hael, but must accept their decision as final.
