People often see the admin team - those who run the Tower - as a little group unto themselves, sometimes separated from the rest of the Tower. So we thought we'd make a page to let you know a bit about ourselves, so you can see just who you're dealing with when you're writing to greytower1@yahoo.com ;)

Story: Most of Dai's story can be found in my fanfics. But to summarize, he came to the tower at the age of 18 (Sep.2001), since then he has served as Indigo Ajah Head, Master of Soldiers, even Master of Novices for a bit, and now M"Hael. Yaniallana has just returned from a 20 year captivity of sorts among the Seanchan army, and at present is still an Accepted, aspiring to the White Ajah.

"Age" of player: I am considered "Ancient" because I was the second to last Instant Aes Sedai/Asha'man at the founding of the GT, but I was only 17 then. Whatever age I say I am now will become outdated, so I'll just state that I was born July 1st 1981.
"Age" of the character: Amora is over a century old, Saphire is over seventy, Liana is in her early twenties.
Main occupations: Research Technician Associate in Psychiatry, specifically assisting research on sleep and major depressive disorder. I spend 2-3 nights/ . collecting data for the lab on 12 to 15 . night shifts. I'm preparing for graduate study.
Adores:My husband, who plays Sigmund. We met on the first day of orientation in college, fast became best friends, and started dating two years later. I introduced him to WoT and GT. We currently live together and work in the same university. I also love chocolate, dancing, art of all sorts, Renaissance and classic history, literature, and a quirky sense of humor. I love my family. And if you haven't guessed already, the picture here is tongue-in-cheek. It's one of my two sisters helping me get dressed on my wedding day, but you can imagine she's a Blue Sister helping the Amyrlin Seat. ; )
Pet hates: Michigan drivers, when people don't tell me straight-out when they have negative feedback about me, and clutter (in html/JavaScript/ftp files and in physical space).
Extra stuff:I am so 'vertically challenged'; I can fit in an overhead storage bin (but not under the seat in front of you). I worry too much. I also rant when properly cued. I thump "Ye Olde Mug of the Ancients" for emphasis when making a point. I make amusing sound effects.
Story I got into WoT when I was 16 and joined the NWT as an aspirant of the Blue Ajah (Amora), where Toby (Keyeren) advertised the founding of the Grey Tower. A friend (then Jel'viendha, later Alondra) and I migrated over with Jaisen Davram and began the Green and Blue Ajahs. Nevlyn promoted me to Mistress of the Novices and Soldiers and from there I created the first versions of the raising requirements, raising tests, and Blue Hall. School became all-consuming so I didn't turn back to the GT during the Breaking until some nine months later when I played Saphire (Amora's daughter) entering the Tower as a novice. That was when I introduced Atreus/Sigmund to the Tower, and when we were raised, we resurrected the Warder Yard and I was promoted (as Saphire) to Sitter of the Green Ajah and Warder-Channeler Representative. Later I founded the Privy Council, Warders' Eyes and Ears Report, Warder Q and A, and the Bondables. I switched to playing Amora primarily and was raised to Keeper of the Chronicles. It was during the same time that Liana was born, but the Indigo Ajah needed her, so I sprinkled some miracle grow on her and she turned from 4 to 14 overnight. Amora was raised to the Amyrlin Seat.

I've bonded Jaisen Asha'man, Gwylim Gaidin, Atreus Gaidin, Sigmund Gaidin, Leisha Gaidar, and Firredal Gaidin. Soon I'll snare, I mean bond, Caith when our characters are raised.

Amora was once overtly warm, but a series of events including the Breaking, being leashed as damane, and being left by her husband, carved her into moving stone and 'serinity in a cup'. I've begun to emulate her after Queen Elizabeth I and give her the 'cause' of promoting order within and between the threads of the Pattern, as illuminated by the Light through prophecy. She is an agent of fate. Part of this involves uniting the Ajahs and leading the GT towards surviving through at least the beginning of the Fourth Age. Saphire simply wants to charge into battle and help others survive the Last Battle (through promoting the Warders). Liana is a slight mix of the two and then some - she's a proper noble but has her mother's temper, so she copes by dueling to 'satisfy her honor' and getting Caith into trouble. She trained as a Drin'far'ji until it was discovered she could channel, and more recently discovered that she enjoys experimenting with weaves and figuring out what specific objects of power are meant to do. She and Lembirt Asha'man will soon begin courting, and Aljen Pori has sworn fealty to her. She is considering whether she is ta'veren or extraordinarily lucky. She is both serious and humorous, sometimes in the same post.

Extra stuff: I'm exceedingly short, and wish I were tall, blond haired, and blue eyed, so i compensate by dying my hair black (makes sense doesn't it?) and playing a character that is blond haired and blue eyed, but I did make her as short as I am.
Story: I joined the GT several years ago when a friend told me about it. I rose through the ranks quickly and achieved both my ambitions, first by becoming First Reasoner and then Keeper of the Chronicles fairly quickly. After several happy months of Keeper-hood real life came crashing in as well as a terrible case of writers-block and I had to flee the GT, unsure when I'd be able to return though positive I wanted to. During by time away I lurked occasionally keeping up with general news and changes, waiting until I felt I was ready to rejoin and continue with my characters. Finally I felt I was ready, my work was stable, and I felt a nice itch to write again. Crysthia returned after a rather traumatic experience obtaining an item significant to winning the last battle. A few short months after my return I was called upon again to take up the Keepers Stole and intend to keep it for a long time to come.

Extra stuff: Let's see, I'm the youngest of four, I'm 6'3", I sometimes have a tendancy of putting my foot in my mouth, but luckily message boards help you avoid that. I love singing along to music in my car despite the funny looks it produces. And by singing I mean at the top of my lungs. :) Why not?
Story: My story goes back to a couple of years before joining the Tower. My first online roleplaying experience was a Star Trek SIM named Upsilon Fleet. It was there I met and became friends with a character who was also a member of the Tower, T'Kari al'Kun, who has since left the Tower. When Upsilon Fleet began to decay he invited me to join the Tower, it was then I began to read The Eye of the World for the first time, and have been addicted to the Wheel of Time and the Grey Tower ever since. I joined in March of 2002 and was raised to Asha'man of the Green Ajah that November. I've served as a Sitter and as M'Hael before taking an extended shara, a full-time mission for my church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Now that I've returned I've been selected to be the Keeper of the Archives.

Durent's never been bonded, he has come close a couple of times but it's never worked out. It's still a possibility, although he has become used to working 'alone.' He did marry Kylara Davram Sedai of the Green Ajah, she has also since left the Tower. They had a child together, Daeric. Boy is that a long story...

Story: Caden grew up lifting cargo in the Bandar Eban docks. When he escaped from his uncle, he got recruited as a squire for a High Lord of Tear. Lord Varcan, which was his name, schooled him in the art of warfare and history. When Varcan’s convoy left for Illian many years back, it was attacked by brigands. Varcan was lethally injured, and with his dying breath he bid Caden to take his long sabre, and honour it. Henceforth, Caden is both Domani and Tairen in a sense, but it was later revealed that he was of Arafelin blood. He travelled and worked as a sell-sword for a long time before he found a purpose in his sad life. Leaving his questionable occupation at the age of 28, he joined the Tower. After years in service he attained the rank of Gaidin, was bonded to Leanna Sedai - who later became the Amyrlin Seat - and was soon after that promoted to Gaidin Captain. A few years later, following the Ripples of Shadow RP, he was appointed to Master of Training and disciplined the Trainees in the Warder Yards. Leanna and Caden parted because of the man he became after his face was burned. He was later Bonded to Mialaha Sha'hal Sedai. After learning that he was the true heir to the High Seat of House Ives in Arafel, he left the Tower to reclaim his birthright. He was away for 15 years, but he returned after being bonded to Miahala Sha'hal Sedai for the second time. In time, he was elected as the new Master of Arms after Sigmund von Danzig.

Story: Many years ago Sigmund was born to a middling noble house in Shienar. As the second son of the House, he did not stand to inherit anything, so he sought his fortune as a Warder at the Grey Tower. He found fortune there, ending up Bonded to first Saphire en'Damier and later her mother, the Amyrlin Seat. He was Master of Training for a time, then Master of Arms for longer. He retired from official positions and took to full-time protection of the Amyrlin Seat, including running her Eyes and Ears network. Most recently, this task has turned into an official position, as the Master of Spies for the Grey Tower.
