For the Week of April 5th - 10th
I'm depressed this week and nobody bothered to tell me anything juicy, so this week's news is pretty cut and dried.
The Justice Masque has reached its official end. Expect participation rewards shortly. Those Learning Ranks with five sizeable posts (250+ words) are requested to send the URLs of said posts to the Mistress of Novices, Master of Soldiers, or Master of Training.
Everyone should thank Storm Ananke for the lovely "evening." All my characters had completely rotten evenings, personally, but at least Sevastien's cheered up a bit. Other memorable plots include the current drama playing out surrounding the appearance of Riven Trimak, involving such luminaries as our hostess, the Amyrlin Seat, the Keeper of the Chronicles, and Caden Ives Gaidin.
Tukal Faertraken and Amairwyn Serenya appear to be making the foundations of a Brown Ajah dynasty - hurrah for nuptials! The happy couple has no *ahem* pressing reason to wed...yet.
There's always next year, eh?
Our next "big RP" will be Bel Tine, starting in just a couple weeks.
New members this week:
Soldier Norin Maddix of Amadicia signed our roles. Welcome, Connor! Sometimes I forget names. Sorry - I did it last week too, to Samantha and Samantha. Nobody else has agreed to do this newsletter though...
Novice Adala Bahar of Tear signed the Novice Book! Welcome (again) Katy!
Seira, after suffering the horror of burning out, joined the Drin'far'ji.
Asha'man Tidral Laeron of the Yellow was welcomed back into our folds.
There were no raisings this week.
Til next week.
For the Week of March 29th - April 4th, 2010
First of all, HOPPY EASTER! May you have lots of chocolate bunnies, marshmallow fluff, and the spiritual experience of your choice, including none at all, of course. I am really no good at political correctness, and so I gladly give you the right to be as offended as you wish by this comment. Are you happy now? No? Well, let's forget the holiday and get along with the site stuff then.
We will likely be welcoming a new Master of Soldiers this week, although the voting result is not yet available. When there's just ONE candidate, it's pretty easy to bet you're stuck with the job. Moral: Never speak up!!! But let's have a precelebratory round of applause for my savior, Tukal Faertraken, of the Brown Ajah. Shortly, we will have a tea party to celebrate his raise in rank and give the Learning Ranks and chance to speak to their new Administrator. (It will be on the Learning Ranks board, of course.)
Other scraps of site news:
- Teachers need to be more careful of their lessons: I've had several complaints about lessons not being graded on time. The time limit is three days. Yours truly was amongst her own people to yell at - oops!
- Everyone should review the Site Rules and Goals at their earliest convenience: we're having a few complaints about writing styles/lack of respect/hate-speech and fear of using Tower facilities as a result thereof.
- Our M'Hael has ordered his new computer! Huzzah, for soon he shall return and do whatever they do over there in Guys With Magic and Big Honking Swords land.
- Remember, when planning a plot that breaks a rule, a courtesy email to your MoNSTer is really, really appreciated. It's nice to be able to sweep in and write straight through punishing you in one go.
The Justice Masque is continuing without the highs of last week's drama, although Aiko Navoo Aes Sedai publicly shamed herself by apologizing between courses and leaving her seat; Sarkaska Jinlo Gaidin was felled by a small and unarmed girl; and chaos is reigning at the table occupied by Poppy Dren Aes Sedai and Caden Ives Gaidin.
Rumor says the dancing - part three - begins quite soon, perhaps even this evening. For those surviving the feast, humiliations and shall we say poetic justice is forthcoming. I've heard of some amusing and appalling plots scheduled for this portion of the Masque, and I'm so happy I signed up - a lot of us really outdid ourselves in making this an interactive experience.
Thank you, Storm Ananke, for dusting off your rp (we had one in 2009 as well) and running it! This year's might be superlative to last year's.
New Faces, Same Old Places, Our Heart Embraces...
Urgh, there is so a reason I'm not a poet.
New Soldiers took the prize this week: we added Kaehle Graison of Cairhien, Volsee Kal'sarak of Malkieri blood (Shienaran birth) , and the enigmatic Amos Argandi. Amos aspires to the Indigo Ajah (Go TEAM INDIGO!) but the other lads are not yet decided. I've heard Kaehle favors Yellow (I was thinking Grey) and Volsee Green, (and he seems quite Green to me!)
We also welcomed a new Novice: Soshira, once known as Alysyn Baern, came to us from a Seanchan exploration party. Born Altaran, she claims to be damane and nothing else now - let's hope time changes that.
I have no record of new Drin'far'ji joining this week. Recruit a friend! However, we did welcome back Xavier Cranwell. May your sword stave off our coming peril, Drin'far'ji!
The Bigger, Better Deal
We raised no Dedicated this week, but we do have excellent news in every other facet of our operations!
Our ladies have been cracking the books this week, and brought us excellent double raisings:
- Sulinn Ailyana bid the Serpentine Building good riddance and moved into the Green Halls now that her gown is banded in the seven stripes.
- The Indigo Ajah was delighted to receive Latonia Svan just this morning!
As a fair warning, both ladies' Three Arches contain adult material of a suggestive nature, and Latonia's has content not meant to be read by those under eighteen.
Nesir Aeser has returned from a harrowing ten-day ordeal in the wilderness, and is now proud to wear the darker shade of grey he has earned. Now, if that could only cure the darkness in his heart...
Other News
A promise to bond was declared between Volsee Kal'sarak and Lisandra al'Evenmoor, who I mistakenly called Amairwyn when introducing Volsee. Beg your pardons, Samantha and Samantha! You'd think I'd be good at mistaken identities, I do mother twins...but alas!
April Fool's Day was given over to some delicious pranks, the silliest being in the chatroom, when the word "post" was added to the filter, causing us to **** each other ALL DAY LONG. Thank you for the laughs, Novice Sappho and Zarishka Ghraise!
Equal humor was provided by the fertile minds of Nelune Sedai and Firredal Osellien Gaidin. And the OOC board had a totally classic .css makeover courtesy of Binky the Wonderboard.
Riven Trimak's initial idea for a four-letter word to insert in place was also completely hilarious, 'til we got caught. Still, Dan can relish the memories of what I asked him to do to me at the Justice Masque, eh?
I believe that's it for our week: have I missed any news or goings-on that you would have liked reported? Ya gotta tell a person these things - and there's no saying you can't ever find me, I even *slept* with my computer last night (fell asleep watching a movie.)
Site Bulletin!
March 30, 2010:
The Secret Word for posting has changed. If you did not receive an email telling you the new word, you should definitely email admin - right now. Our address is greytower1@yahoo.com. Make sure to include all your character names and your name - somewhere, someone is not listed, and they should have been, and that is why you were missed.
