The Sparring Arena

In the center of the Warder Yards is a circle marked by red paint known as the Sparring Arena. This is the space within which mock battles are fought, somtimes one-on-one and sometimes against multiple opponents. This is where weapon skills are demonstrated and practiced takes place out side of training, the closest experience to true battle. To the east are the Training Yard and to the west are the Evaluation Yard above which trainers and trainees practice and demonstrate. Ahead in the distance the Tower Battlements stretch from east to west protecting the Tower Grounds on all sides. You look back to the ground before you, hard-packed bronze that when shone on directly by the noon sun makes you squint, and take in the temporary emptiness of the Arena. The sun beats upon your back where you stand.
