The Training Yard

You approach the Training Yard facing north from the south where the Grey Tower looms behind you like a small mountain. Ahead in the distance the Tower Battlements stretch from east to west protecting the Tower Grounds on all sides. On the farther side of the Yards are the Sparing Arena and Evaluation Yard. Just before you are the Training Yard were trainers and trainess teach and recieve lessons in the arts of various weapons. The ground is the color of hard-packed bronze that, when shone on directly by the noon sun, makes you squint. A cool breeze lifts from the east refreshing you in the hot sun. There is always at least one pair, student and trainer, practicing in the Yard. Other trainers and trainees stand by the corners of the Training Yard waiting for free space. Behind them visitors sit in the shade underneath the eves of the Warder Hall on benches where cool pitchers of water await. There are a few scattered Yellow Ajah members and aspirants on call on the chance of accidents which occur ocasionally.
