| Breaking, The | Tower Collapse of '99 | In addition to the RJ context of this term (the Breaking of the World by madmen), this term descibes the incident in October '99 when the Amyrlin Seat Nevelyn Co'rel, and the Keeper, Ambrese Najen, suddenly deleted the Tower and all its records. It was painstakingly rebuilt against their wishes by its original founder in the following few days.

| HoS | Hall of Sitters | The body of Officers and representatives from the Ajahs, who meet to discuss controversial aspects of Tower policy IC and OOC. Also the name of the board where they meet.

| ICQ | I Seek You | Another chat program most of us have.

| IM | Instant Message | A quick 2-person chat method.
|
| IRL | In Real Life | A bit like OOC, but used mainly within OOC posts to tell someone you mean yourself rather than your character.

| KotC | Keeper of the Chronicles | Official in charge of the Library, also helps maintain the rest of the site.

| LOA | Leave of Absence | Time when you don't have access to a computer and can't be at the Tower: people usually post to inform everyone of such breaks on the MMB, but it's not compulsory.

| LOL | Laugh out Loud/Lots of Laughs | Laughter is a reaction to something you find funny.

| MB | Message Board | A centre of communication within the Tower. Leave messages whenever you like.

| ML | Members List | A list of all the members of the Tower, which constantly needs updating.

| MoA | Master of Arms | Official in charge of the Warders and WiTs.

| MoN | Mistress of Novices | Aes Sedai in charge of Novices- if a Novice has any problems, she's there to help.

| NPC | Non Player Character | A character who is not RPd full time by someone in particular, but who is available to be used in anyone's stories, RPing, etc.

| OOC | Out Of Character | This acronym means the author is writing as him/herself, and not as the character.

| OP | One Power | That stuff you can channel if you are a Novice or Soldier but not if you're a WiT. Useful.

| RHE | Rolls His/Her Eyes | Exasperation/ boredom/ amusement...etc

| RJ | Robert Jordan | Person who wrote the WoT. A good writer.

| RO(T)FL | Roll On (the) Floor Laughing | This is if you find something hilariously amusing.

| RP | Role Play | What we're here for, and what we do when we write IC. An RP is an organised group of people who are RPing something specific on a board.

| RSI | Repetitive Strain Injury | Something nasty that happens to your fingers from typing too much. Use these acronyms and you won't suffer from it.
