The Answers:
What is a mentor? A mentor is an older member, usually an Aes Sedai, Asha'man, or Gaidin, who is assigned to help a new member. Mentors stay on until their mentees reach the intermediate rank of Accepted, Dedicated, or Ji'Alantin, at which time the mentors may be given other mentees and the former mentees may choose to become mentors themselves, if qualified. (Please see the Mentor Information for more details.) For a list of mentors and mentees, please see the Mentor List.
What is the job of a mentor? Please see the Mentor Information for a list of responsibilities.
I would like to be a mentor. How do I become one? Aes Sedai, Asha'man, Gaidin, Accepted, Dedicated, and Ji'Alantin may be mentors. Please read the Mentor Information, and then just fill out the Mentor Application to apply. The administration will reply to you within a week to tell you whether you have been approved as a mentor.
I'm a new member, and I haven't yet been contacted by a mentor. How do I get one? If it has been less than a week since you joined the Tower, please just wait; your mentor should be contacting you soon. If, however, you have been a member for more than a week and still have not received an e-mail from a mentor, please contact the Mistress of Novices, Master of Soldiers, or Master of Training to ask for assistance.
What is the raising requirement for the mentor program?
All new drin'far'ji are required to roleplay at least once with their mentors in order to qualify to be raised. The thread may be about anything, and once completed, the mentor must send the mentee a letter to be forwarded to the Master of Training acknowledging that the requirement has been fulfilled. Channelers do not have raising requirements that involve their mentors.
I'm a mentor, and my mentee won't reply to my e-mails. What should I do? Please keep trying! Continue sending your mentee e-mails about once a week for a few weeks, and if after that time your mentee still hasn't replied, please contact the Mistress of Novices, Master of Soldiers, or Master of Training, and you will be reassigned as soon as you are needed again.
If your question isn't answered on these pages, please contact the Tower administration.
