For a Novice/Soldier to be raised to Accepted/Dedicated:
- Candidate must spend a minimum of four weeks as a Novice/Soldier.
- Candidate must join and complete the One Power Basics class
- Candidate must complete one roleplay thread with another member of the Tower.
- Candidate must join and complete two in character classes of any variety.
- Candidate must complete one further Raising Requirement. This can
be any one of the following:
Write a Fanfic.
We suggest you read the Fanfic
Guidelines before you start, and be sure
to send a copy to the
Keeper.
Participation in an official Tower Roleplay,
chosen from the Roleplay
List. Note that you have to have actively
participated in it, but the RP does not have
to have finished when you apply to be Raised.
Assist the administration of the Grey Tower in some fashion. This assistance must be approved by administration before it can be counted as a raising requirement. If you have done something to help the site, contact the Mistress of Novices or Master of Soldiers to deteremine whether it will count. Possible ways to help include being particularly active at roleplaying with new members, helping to organize information, updating a webpage, or any number of other things.
The completion of another class in addition
to the classes required for your raising
will count as a separate raising requirement.
The performance of a prank, either in a group
or alone, that has been approved by the Mistress
of Novices or Master of Soldiers and cleared
with the people whom the candidate intends to
play their prank on. These pranks cannot
include the impersonation of another player's
character without the said character player's
approval, and cannot harm or kill another playing
character. Like all RP raising requirements, the RP thread must contain at least six posts of decent length (200 words) by the character requesting raising. All consequences of the prank must also be dealt with before raising is requested.
Other things may be considered; if you have done something that you feel should count as a raising requirement, please email the Mistress of Novices or Master of Soldiers with your reasoning, and they will consider it.
| Once you are ready to be raised, go HERE and complete the form to submit your raising requirements to the Mistress of Novices or Master of Soldiers. |
For an Accepted/Dedicated to be raised to Aes Sedai/Asha'man:
- Candidate must have held their current rank for at least five weeks.
- Candidate must choose an Ajah of aspiration if they haven't already.
- Candidate must complete a roleplay thread explaining why they chose their Ajah of aspiration. This could be a conversation with someone about Ajah choice, it could be a full blown exploration of all the Ajahs, it could be a "sorry, I chose another Ajah" RP with a member of a different Ajah, or it could be with a member of the Ajah in question; it is entirely up to the person in question how this occurs, so long as their reasoning for choosing that Ajah is made clear.
- Candidate must complete any five items off the following list.
Write a Fanfic. We suggest you read the Fanfic Guidelines before you start, and be sure to send a copy to the Keeper. (This option may be repeated up to 2 times for credit)
Be a site Assistant for at least a month. This requires that your application to be an assistant is approved, and that you are actively assisting during that month. If this requirement is approved, it will automatically count as two items, therefore meaning only 4 other requirements must be met.
Assist the administration of the Grey Tower in some fashion. This assistance must be approved by administration before it can be counted as a raising requirement. If you have done something to help the site, contact the Mistress of Novices or Master of Soldiers to deteremine whether it will count. Possible ways to help include being particularly active at roleplaying with new members, helping to organize information, updating a webpage, being a particularly active member of the Council of Youth, and many other things.
Complete one roleplay threads with other members of the Tower. Your posts must be of suitable length, and the threads must have clear endings. (This option be repeated up to 4 times for credit)
Teach a class. Class must be kept up to date and graded for at least one month (or five students pass) in order to count. (This option may be repeated up to 3 times for credit)
Give one or more lectures equalling 2500 words in total. (One lecture of 2500 words, or five of 500 words.) (This option may be repeated up to 3 times for credit)
Participation in an official Tower Roleplay,
chosen from the Roleplay
List. Note that you have to have actively
participated in it, but the RP does not have
to have finished when you apply to be Raised.
Complete an in character class of any variety. (This option may be repeated up to 2 times for credit)
Complete a 'learning thread' that exemplifies the fact that Accepted and Dedicated choose their own course of study while at the Tower. Questions about this requirement should be emailed to the Mistress of Novices or Master of Soldiers. (This option may be repeated up to 3 times for credit)
If you are feeling ambitious, you can start an official Roleplay. This involves a commitment to monitoring the progress of the RP and posting there regularly. Note that you must have made such a commitment in order for this raising requirement to be valid. We will not allow twelve posts (as a random example) to count for this raising requirement. Please seek the consent of the M'Hael or the Amyrlin Seat before doing this, and inform the Keepers once you have received permission, so one of them can add your roleplay to the list. This does not have to be finished when you apply, but the RP should be well under way. If you have any questions about this, email the M'hael and Amyrlin.
Earn one Talent point (This option may be repeated up to 2 times for credit)
Earn one Benefit point (This option may be repeated up to 2 times for credit)
Earn one Weapon Skill point (This option may be repeated up to 2 times for credit)
Other things may be considered; if you have done something that you feel should count as a raising requirement, please email the Mistress of Novices or Master of Soldiers with your reasoning, and they will consider it.
